Diane Horgan, Mady Colquhoun and Ian Hafekost recently attended a farewell presentation for yet another person who has provided strong support to Roleybushcare.

Christine Burtenshaw, who left her job as Senior Environmental Officer at the City of Armadale for a new position at the City of Gosnells, was given a fond farewell on 8 March by representatives from various community groups benefitting from Christine’s work and support.

Roleybushcare’s March field day was a return to the Sylvania Park reserve, Roleystone. Despite the high easterly winds and power blackout in Roleystone over the previous night, eleven hardy volunteers turned up to treat the jarrah and many banksia trees against dieback.

Four volunteers provided an appetising morning tea. Of special note were Chris Ranger’s sausage rolls which because of the power outage she had been forced to cook on her Weber barbecue and, if I might say so, tasted even better than usual. Barbecued sausage rolls might be the way to go!
